The living room is one of the rooms where we spend most of our time when we are at home.

You would like to make it a little more to your taste! But you don’t know where to start?

To make your living room look instantly more tidy, make sure to hide all the electrical wires, especially those connected to your television and appliances.

An audio-visual cabinet with closed compartments can do the trick and instantly simplify your life! You won’t need to invest in new furniture, but rather opt for second-hand furniture to save money.

Have at least two sources of lighting

Well-dosed lighting can totally transform a room! During the day, natural light usually does the job, but once darkness falls, it is important to have several sources of light to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere in your living room.

Opt for light-diffusing lamps and choose low-watt bulbs for soft, relaxing lighting!

Incorporate storage baskets.

Controllers, various cables, adapters, chargers and other small techno gadgets will find their place in pretty storage baskets.

You can also use them to store an extra throw or to put your mountain of cushions in when you decide to take a nap on your couch. Storage baskets = simple and efficient organization!

Add some greenery

If you’re a fan of minimalist decor and you’re not the type to paint your walls with bright colours, plants can be a great way to add colour to your living room.

And in addition to adding life to your decor, they improve the quality of the air in your home!

Choose the right furniture sizes

One of the most common mistakes in decorating: furniture that is too big. While it happens that the furniture we own was given to us or was purchased when we lived in a larger space, you can still adjust it to fit your decor!

For example: you have two large loveseats that take up a lot of space, but since you need four seats, you don’t want to part with one of them. A good solution would be to put one up for sale and buy two small chairs to replace it.

Keep in mind that the more your living room is cluttered with large pieces of furniture, the smaller it will appear.

Get a cozy carpet

The living room is the room where we like to relax! To put yourself in that state of mind the second you set foot in it, get an extremely soft carpet.

Limit clutter

Did you know that the clutter in a room can affect your stress level? Try to limit dragging around by adopting a few storage baskets and/or closed cabinet furniture to store your belongings.

There’s nothing like a clean, well-organized space to help you relax!
